Lifting Equipment Technician
Job Description
The Lifting Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of various types of overhead cranes and lifting systems on industrial and mining sites.
Main Responsibilities (installation)
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics;
- Align rails and adjust beams;
- Assemble trolleys, electric hoists, and lifting systems;
- Perform electrical connections and verify safety systems;
- Ensure commissioning in accordance with CSA B167 standards and established procedures.
Main Responsibilities (maintenance and inspection)
- Perform visual and functional inspections (cables, hooks, brakes, rails);
- Carry out lubrication and adjustment of mechanical components;
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems;
- Inspect safety devices (limit switches, limiters, emergency stops);
- Maintain maintenance records and ensure regulatory compliance.
Experience, Skills & Education
- Significant experience with various types of overhead cranes (single girder, double girder, electric hoists);
- Strong expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting lifting equipment;
- Excellent ability to read mechanical and electrical plans;
- Solid knowledge of industrial electromechanics;
- Ability to work on remote sites and in varying conditions;
- Strong attention to detail, autonomy, safety mindset, and team spirit;
- Availability for a 14/14 schedule;
